Our life together did not include Boxers right
off. Starting in the 1970’s we built a life that included careers,
home, family and the raising of two sons. Dogs were always a part
of our family, but it was smaller dogs, at my request. You see, I
grew up with small dogs…Chihuahuas! I was not at all sure that I
could handle two active boys and a big dog. Dennis left the breed
decision to me and the boys and we decided on Basset Hounds. One
Basset Hound lead to another and it was not until we lost our second
one that my patient husband stated that it was his turn to choose
breeds…It was, of course, Boxers!
I will always be grateful to Dennis for
introducing me to this awesome breed. The amazing characteristics
of the Boxer caught my attention right away. The keen intelligence
that hungers for human interaction coupled with the fun loving
attitude that the boxer is known for. A combination that I feel is
unique to the breed and continues to amaze me over 13 years later.
Boxers can be so elegant and proud and then turn around and be such
a clown! What ever they do they seem to stay tuned in to the mood
of their human companion. Needless to say, the Boxer won my heart
completely. Over the years my love for the breed has grown. I
cannot imagine a life without Boxers!
Our first Boxer was
Sheila's Precious Mile Away, "Mile Away". She was my first
experience with this awesome breed and it is to her that I owe my
love of the Boxer. It was love at first sight that continued and
grew for the years that we were blessed with her.
It was Mile Away that showed me all that a Boxer can
give…companionship, loyalty, playfulness, intelligence, the ability
and willingness to learn tasks, to work in performance sports, and
the value of simply having fun! Even though Dennis was familiar
with Boxers she showed him an additional thing or two about the
breed. I can’t find the words to express all the love and joy she
gave to us. It is with her that Dennis and I got involved in
showing in obedience. We had so many wonderful times together
training and showing. She earned her CDX Title and her RE
Title…showing always with a joyful heart and a wagging tail. She
gave us a beautiful litter of pups that have brought much joy to us
and proved themselves in both Obedience and Agility. Mile Away was
the start of Anden Boxers and will always remain the heart and soul
behind it
We were thrilled with our first litter out of
Sheila’s Precious Mile Away and Ch. Gamet’s Hellsafire. This litter
has continued to excel as working dogs. The performance of the
litter has far exceeded our expectations. Our boy,
Anden’s Simon Says V Gamet, "Simon",
earned his CDX and RAE Titles. Our girl
Anden’s Bente Babe V Gamet, "Benta", also earned her CDX Title
and her RE Title. Anden’s Nani Kala,
"Kala", has earned her Mach 3 in Agility and was awarded Top Agility
Boxer by the American Boxer Club for 2007
In 2008 we added
Lemko’s Starlight for Anden, “Sophie”. She came to us from the
breeding of Ch Lemko’s Rising Sun and World Ch. Twinkle Star of
Eurozone. We are grateful to Jessica Kozel of
Lemko Boxers for letting this
beautiful girl come live with us in California. Sophie has proven
herself in the very competitive California breed ring. She is also
in training for performance sports and we look forward to competing
with her in the obedience ring.
We are very excited about our latest addition,
Encore’s Flemenco, “Carmel”. Carmel
comes to us from Encore Boxers
from the breeding of Grand Ch R and G’s Mystical Dancer and Encore’s
Whistle Stop. We are delighted to have this new addition and are
grateful to Cheryl Cates of Encore Boxers for entrusting her to us.
We look forward to see what Carmel can do in the conformation and
performance rings.
We are glad to have you visit and hope you will
enjoy meeting our Boxers.
